The leadership of the Kosovo Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTIK) was received in a meeting by the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, where a number of issues concerning businesses were discussed.

The Chairman of the CTIK Board, Mr. Skënder Krasniqi, highlighted the main challenges faced by businesses in accessing finance, issues related to the insurance sector, including the Green Card system, as well as other matters falling under the CBK’s competencies.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Chamber, Mr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, expressed concern that returning to elections is directly harming the economy, as key laws for economic development, including SEPA, have remained blocked.

He stated that despite continuous calls, political parties have not shown the willingness to finalize these laws before the dissolution of the Assembly.

On the other hand, Governor Ismaili thanked the leadership of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the meeting and for sharing information on the challenges businesses are facing with the financial sector.

He also noted that the CBK is engaged in a number of reforms and activities from which the economy and businesses in general will benefit.

Both parties expressed their readiness for closer cooperation between them, financial institutions, and the business community, with the aim of addressing current challenges and finding solutions.
